8 New Officers Join Cherry Hill Police Department
Posted on 7/28/2008
From Mayor Platt and Chief Charlie Jones

On June 25th 2008, Mayor Bernie Platt swore eight new officers into the Cherry Hill Police Department's fraternity of crime fighters. These young men join more than 130 of the finest officers in the state of New Jersey serving and protecting the Citizens of the Township. They will attend the Camden County Police Academy and will then come back to the Department where they will receive another three to four months of field training on the streets of Cherry Hill. The new officers are Frank Kirsch, Richard Nelms, Bruce Erney, Francis Bradfield, Edwin Steinach, Sean Andrews, Stephen Varady and Brady Hort. These new recruits will now be the newest beacons of public safety throughout our community and I encourage everyone to welcome them to Cherry Hill.

On the same date, Detective James Staepel was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and Officer Jason Snyder was promoted to the rank of Detective. Sergeant Staepel has fourteen years of service with the Department and Detective Snyder has ten years of service.
