Cherry Hill Police Department Investigative Unit

The Investigative Unit is staffed with one lieutenant, two sergeants, 12 detectives and four civilian personnel. Each member has an assigned duty and responsibility.

The unit is comprised of highly trained detectives, who are instructed and schooled in a wide range of techniques of criminal investigations. They are responsible for follow-up investigations of all reported incidents such as suspicious deaths, assaults, sex related crimes, burglary, theft, fraud, and auto theft.

Detectives in specialized units are assigned to investigations of drug related offenses, computer crimes, internet fraud and identity theft, intelligence gathering, and to process liquor and firearms applications. The crime scene unit utilizes scientific methods to assist detectives in their investigations.
